Igor Banfi was born in 1973 in Murska Sobota. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts-painting, where he graduated in 1997 with prof. Andrei Jemec. Postgraduate study was completed in 2000 under the supervision of prof. Lojze Logar. He is a member of the Society of Artists Prekmurje and Prlekija and the Association of Slovenian artists. He lives and works in Ljubljana and Murska Sobota.
